A Hot time at the Library

We have had some warm days here in the library since last Wednesday. One of our air conditioners went out, so we have all dressed as coolly as we can and have brought fans from home to try and make it more bearable. It's amazing how a little heat can change the atmosphere. Since I'm in charge I feel like I need to everything I can to make it more comfortable for everyone. So I guess I have felt a more responsible than anyone else. It has been so cold this year, 30 degrees the 11 of June that I am kind of happy the finally have some warm days.

I just read this great book called "Skeletons at the Feast"

I really enjoyed this book! The story is set in Germany at the end of World War II and begins as a German family flees the Russians on their march to occupy Germany. The Emmerich family are a wealthy farming family who probably own hundreds if not thousands of acres. They leave a beautiful home to travel by horse and wagon west across Germany. Mutty, daughter Anna and her brother Theo start out with a POW named Collum. The father of the family and on of the sons stays behind to fight the Russians. It's a great read, I think we'll use it for the reading group.
